The Special Couple: Elise + Phill

How did you meet your husband? 

Phill and I met through my brother Andrew – Phill was his plumbing apprentice!

Describe the proposal.

Phill chose our favourite place – a lookout with a spectacular view of Inverloch Ocean and the surrounding farmland.  He was waiting for me at the top of the lookout and as I walked towards him he got down on one knee and held out the ring box with my gorgeous ring inside.

Describe your wedding theme/style.

Our wedding theme was a traditional and elegant high tea. We had a tea cup bonbonniere, tea cup centrepieces filled with flowers, a teapot on top of the cake, and a cup and saucer ride at the reception. The ride in particular was a surprise for all our guests, and a huge hit all round!

What made you visit Eternal Bridal?

I love watching ‘Say Yes to the Dress’ – so when I got engaged the first thing I wanted to do was to try on the designer gowns from the show! Eternal Bridal stock the same brands as Kleinfelds so I knew that was my go-to destination.

Describe the moment you found your wedding dress.

Initially, I saw my gown on the Lazaro Instagram page – although at that point I thought it was totally unobtainable due to it being just off the runway at the New York Bridal Market. I contacted Eternal Bridal as I knew they would be my best chance at obtaining the dress of my dreams! They did their utmost to get the dress rushed over from the USA.  After a few months waiting for it to arrive, the day finally came when I got the phone call to say it had come in.  When I arrived at the store and saw the sparkle through the window, it was love at first sight!  I couldn’t have imagined a better dress, it was like it was designed for me!  It was unbelievable and I didn’t want to take it off!

What do you love in particular about your wedding dress?

Absolutely everything! Glitter is my favourite colour so my Lazaro dress was a dream come true – sparkle from head to toe!

If you could give your newly engaged self one piece of advice, what would it be?

Enjoy the journey. You will have everlasting memories of your big day so cherish the build-up – it’s all worth it on the day!
