THE FIRST SIGHT & THE PROPOSAL

Thomas and I met when we worked together and reconnected through mutual friends a few years later. We have been inseparable ever since

We went to Adelaide for a week in January 2017. Thomas was so nervous in the days leading up to the proposal. He took me to Langmeil Vineyard in the Barossa Valley. I couldn’t believe what was happening; I laughed for a few minutes before happily saying yes!

THE INSPIRATION & THE BRIDAL LOOK

We based our choices on our want for a relaxed wedding, we love to socialise with our friends. We ended up going with a modern styled ‘beach side’ wedding theme.

A big inspiration for my dress was my mother's very own wedding dress. My mother's wedding dress was made by my late grandmother. I didn’t think I was going to buy a dress when I walked into Eternity Bridal, but once I saw and tried on dresses, I couldn’t walk away from the dress.

BETTINA'S SAY "YES" TO THE DRESS MOMENT

I tried on about ten to fifteen dresses and had no luck. I was finished trying on dresses, and my maid of honour gave me the dress to try on because she saw so many similarities between it and my Mum's dress. It wasn’t love at first sight with the dress, I didn’t think it was what I wanted. But once I tried it on, I fell in love. I cried once I saw myself in the dress. That’s how I knew Fleur De Lis by Hayley Paige was the one for me.

THE HIGHLIGHT

My highlight was spending time with Thomas between our ceremony and reception to drink the bottle of wine we bought from Langmeil the day we got engaged.

BETTINA'S ADVICE

I would say take time with your husband during the day, to relax and have some time to yourselves. It was the best thing we did on our day!

BETTINA'S ETERNAL BRIDAL EXPERIENCE

I was 6 weeks pregnant at the time and didn’t know how my body would change after having my daughter. The assistant at Eternal Bridal was phenomenal in helping me choose my dress. She explained what styles to avoid and which dresses would or wouldn’t suit my body shape.
