The Special Couple: Emma + Mark

THE FIRST SIGHT & PROPOSAL

Mark and I met through mutual friends about 9 years ago and we became close friends before we starting dating. After a New Years kiss, we’ve been together ever since!

Mark had the engagement ring made and as soon as it was ready, he couldn’t wait to give it to me! We had plans to go to Victoria’s Mornington Peninsula on good Friday to take a drive and enjoy the day. It was very busy around and he knew I didn’t want a public proposal. He had a plan to stop off at a private beach area but I said no let’s just head home and ruined his plans! So once we got home before I could ruin anymore plans, as we were sitting on our couch in the privacy of our own home, he got down on one knee and asked me to marry him! If only I knew I wouldn’t have ruined his plans!

THE INSPIRATION

The venue in itself spoke for itself with it’s beautiful greenery grounds that I knew I wanted that to be a main focus. We went with simple colours to compliment that, greys black and white.

THE BRIDAL LOOK & SAY "YES" TO THE DRESS MOMENT

I’ve always loved Anna Heinrich’s dress from her wedding to Tim Robards in Italy. It’s classy and glamorous but also timeless. I wanted something that was me but keeping with my vision.

I tried on around 8 gowns to see what styles suited. My gown stood out to me only once I tried it on! The consultant recommended I tried it on and once I did I just knew it was the dress.

THE HIGHLIGHT

The absolute highlight was seeing Mark at the end of aisle. I was so calm the whole day and as soon as I was about to walk down the aisle I was a bundle of nerves and emotions. But as soon as I saw him, I felt at ease and full of love.

EMMA'S ADVICE

Embrace every moment of your engagement in the lead up to the wedding. Time goes so quickly and to remember it’s all about you and your partner, that’s all the matters.

EMMA'S ETERNAL BRIDAL EXPERIENCE

My experience was amazing from start to finish. My consultant was the one who suggested I tried on my dress and I’m so glad I did. It was everything I wanted in a dress. I was there on my own and I as soon as I could I called my mum to tell her I found the dress! All the consultants at eternal bridal were very attentive, made you feel very comfortable and one of them even gave me advice as she got married in the same area, so we had the same suppliers. Could not fault them!
