The Special Couple: Lauren + Kemal

THE PROPOSAL 

Kem proposed in the Hunter Valley after visiting our favourite wineries. After our last wine tasting, we packed a beautiful picnic to enjoy at Lake St Clair. As we sat, enjoying the view and our picnic lunch Kem began to get a little nervous and fidgety. He invited me to get up for some photos together with the beautiful backdrop of the lake. So, he set the camera up, came to stand beside me and then got down on one knee to pop the big question. I was so happy to see him kneeling there in front of me; I couldn't wipe the smile off of my face! I always knew that Kem was the one, my forever guy, so I - of course - said yes!

THE INSPIRATION & VENUE

We knew we wanted an elegant, romantic day that felt relaxed from start to finish. Kemal and I decided on a neutral palette when planning our wedding day, which complimented our stunning venue.

THE BRIDAL LOOK

I originally went into my appointment at Eternal Bridal planning on a very different style of wedding dress than the one I had ended up with. In my mind, I thought I would go for more of a modern bridal look. However, as I began to look at gowns, I was drawn to the figure-hugging silhouettes and intricate lace gowns with beautiful long trains. With this in mind, I decided to go for a bit more Hollywood Glam, opting for vintage waves and soft glam makeup.

SAYING "YES" TO THE DRESS 

My experience at Eternal Bridal was wonderful from start to finish. The location and interior design of the space sets the tone for a classy and luxe experience. I visited two other boutiques and tried on ten dresses before visiting Eternal Bridal. All of the Eternal Bridal staff are so lovely and genuinely helpful. The quality of the gown and the fit stood out to me, and then the price of the bridal gown was (in my opinion) very reasonable. I chose an off-the-rack wedding dress with a custom design feel, and when I saw myself in my wedding gown, I fell in love with how it fits and how I felt when I was in it. I never wanted to get out of my dress, and that's how I knew it was the wedding dress for me.

THE BEST THING ABOUT OUR DAY 

Our wedding ceremony was the highlight of our wedding day. Our celebrant, Carly, put together the most incredible ceremony for us that encapsulated our relationship perfectly. It was so full of emotions. It was an indescribable moment to stand before our loved ones and finally become husband and wife.

LAUREN'S ADVICE 

We got engaged before COVID, so I think as someone that loves a plan and had many expectations around how I thought the lead-up to the big day would look and feel. I would tell myself it is okay when things don't turn out exactly how I always imagined they might. It will still be the most incredible day celebrating the precious love you both share and at the end of the day, that's all that matters.
