The Special Couple: Natalie + Ryan
THE FIRST SIGHT & PROPOSAL
Ryan and I are childhood friends. We grew up in the same street; I have known him since I was a little girl and was the girl next door. Both of our parents still live in the same street. The proposal happened on our 3rd year anniversary. It was a Thursday, and I had just come home from work. We were in the kitchen of our new how and he surprised me. The surprise proposed was followed by lots of tears and joy as I wasn't expecting a proposal that day.
THE INSPIRATION & VENUE
I never really had a theme in mind. Our ceremony and reception were held at the beautiful Pier One Sydney Habour, surrounded by Sydney's fantastic city views. My dress was made in New York, and being a huge Sex and the City fan with a Carrie Bradshaw inspired dress, it just tied in nicely to be getting married in the heart of our city.
THE BRIDAL LOOK
I didn't have any inspiration or set ideas when I went into dress shopping. I went in with an open mind and trusted that I would just know when I put the dress on. Eternal bridal was only the second store that I went to on my dress shopping journey. My dress was the third dress I tried on that day, and that was the one I fell in love with.
SAYING "YES" TO THE DRESS
As soon as I put my gown on and saw the hundreds of meters of Tulle, I knew this was the one, and I didn't want to take it off. It was such a romantic gown. I was with my mother and my sister, and as my lovely Eternal Bridal styling assistant pulled back the curtain and saw the look on their faces, they said exactly what I was feeling. "I'd found the dress". When I took a spin outside of the change room in that dress, that sealed the deal for me. The ladies at Eternal Bridal were all so helpful and lovely. They made my experience so relaxed and were very helpful at recommending reputable places to have my dress altered.
THE BEST THING ABOUT OUR DAY
After having the wedding postponed for six months due to Covid pandemic and restrictions, the highlight of the day was that our day was actually going ahead during such a difficult time. Some brides weren't as lucky as me; it clarified that you could not cancel love, and it always wins
My advice would be to enjoy the moment, do you, and don't feel any pressure. At the end of the day, it is all about marrying the person you love with your nearest and dearest around you.
